A Total Game-Changer

Is the disruptive behaviour of other children restricting your child’s education? Online Learning can be more than an answer; it can be a total game-changer.

The Problem many families face

Parents are becoming increasingly concerned that poor behaviour in mainstream classrooms is having a negative impact on their children’s entitlement to quality education.  The statistics speak for themselves:

According to DfE figures last year, suspensions and permanent exclusions increased significantly.

  • 346,300 suspensions in the autumn term of 2023/24 represents an increase of 98,900 compared to the previous autumn term. This is also higher than the pre-pandemic autumn term (2019/20), when there were 178,400 suspensions.
  • 4,200 permanent exclusions represents an increase of 1,100 compared to autumn term 2022/23. This is also higher than the pre-pandemic autumn term (2019/20) when there were 3,200 permanent exclusions.

These statistics suggest that disruptive behavior is a growing issue in schools, leading to significant numbers of suspensions and permanent exclusions. However, this is the tip of the iceberg with many disruptive students remaining in school due to cyclic behavioural policies that enable unruly students to return to classrooms and to continue disrupting learning. Behavioural systems that enable repetitive disruption chip away at the fabric of positive learning environments.

The victims are those who sit in silence becoming increasingly anonymous while disruptive battles between attention-seeking students and jaded teachers set the tone.

For these students, school becomes a toxic environment.  Hence the growing numbers of students with Emotionally Based School Avoidance syndrome (EBSA).
